Well here it is finally - my ANBU drawing featuring Kakashi and Yamato from Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto series which my friend Sariachan ( ) suggested that I do a few weeks ago. (Also dedicated to her! )
This drawing took me three more days to finish than I originally planned - but it turned out pretty good, I guess.
Not that the actual pencilling was the reason - it only took me two hours to do Yamato and two to do Kakashi - but finalizing the poses in my head took quite a while for the sake of having a decent composition.
I must have gone through about 50 sketches for Kakashi particularly. Good thing he's my favorite character. I originally planned to have Kakashi in more of a fighting situation instead of just standing behind Yamato. But I finally realized the concept wasn't feasible if Yamato was gonna do his Mokuton Moku Jouheki* in the same drawing. Ah, well, live and learn! Hope you think he looks cool anyhow.
By the way, the reason I used Yamato's real name, Tenzou, for the title was because I figured that back in their ANBU days together, Tenzou was simply known as Tenzou, as Tsunade hadn't given him his codename until later on. And obviously, Kakashi is quite used to calling him Tenzou. So for the sake of being historically accurate, since this scene was supposed to take place in the past... Tenzou it is.
Also, don't you just love his tiger ANBU mask? I think he has the best mask I've seen so far in the whole series. Adds to the drama too, I think. ^^
Also many thanks to Patzors ( ) for his helpful feedback.
Hope you guys enjoy!

** Important Note: You may have noticed that I signed this piece PG instead of my usual GK. That's because PG is the initials of my real name, and I'll be signing everything else PG from now on.
I mean, GK is just my forum nickname (Gold Knight, which was already taken here on DA, hence why I'm Firu-Kun here). Please don't be confused by that. ^^
*** For Colorists: If you're tempted to color this, you may want to wait a couple of days. I fully plan to ink this one soon and clean it for easy coloring convenience. If you decide to go ahead anyway, just leave my 'G' in and credit me accordingly. Thanks.
THIS is what you were complaining about?! This wonderful, ubertastic, detailed, smexy, $#%#@$%@#$^#@$^#$^ pic?
Oh my bleeding GAWD.
Kakashi looks brilliant, Ken-chan! You caught him perfectly! And Yamato's pose just makes me roll over the floor wanting to huggle the guy with teh scary eyes <3

How could it suck? What would possiby suck about it? It's beautiful! The perspective is so good with the blades going in towards them like that. The first thing I thought was that it makes it seem like the viewer is the one attacking them - gives you that feeling that you're a ninja! Woot!
I love how you've done the leaves on the trees too, that's a nice way to convey the impression of leaves. This must have taken such a long time to do but it's paid off - it's a brilliant drawing.
Wow... you just did one of the best ANBU drawing I ever saw!!! Thanks! *glomps Phil*
I love everything about the pic, from the poses to the shading, from the composition to all the details of the forest.
You really put a lot of effort in this fanart, I'm glad you dedicated it to me!
I can't wait to see the inked version, too!
P.S. I'll have problems to make a fanart as beautiful as this for you... it'll take some time, I guess... ^^'

I think it's your best deviation, the composition is great, the poses are cool, and the surrounding (leaves, dust, kunais) makes it look even more dynamic. And yes, tenzou's ANBU mask is very cool looking We surely enjoy
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
